By Rick MacDonald
Every believer has watched the news and wondered what these times might mean for the church — and for the return of Christ. In The Coming Persecution of the American Church: Preparing for Life in a World that Opposes Our Biblical Foundation, author Rick MacDonald transforms these questions into a compelling and timely journey that equips Christians to face an increasingly hostile culture with wisdom, courage, and unwavering faith.
More than just an examination of end-times themes, this book is a clear, accessible guide designed for today’s followers of Jesus. Through concise, engaging chapters and grounded biblical teaching, MacDonald helps readers understand the shifting spiritual landscape shaped by pandemic fallout, political fractures, and growing threats to religious liberty. His thoughtful reflections make it easier for believers to discern the times, strengthen their foundations, and embrace their calling in a world that often rejects biblical truth.
From the roots of the early church to modern examples of persecution, The Coming Persecution of the American Church keeps every insight both sobering and empowering. It introduces historical parallels, practical steps, and Scripture-rich encouragement that make spiritual preparedness tangible and meaningful. Readers learn not only what the Bible says about enduring hardship, but also how to live purposefully, guard their hearts, and remain faithful even as opposition intensifies across nations, states, and cities.
MacDonald’s approach is pastoral, compelling, and deeply rooted in the teachings of Jesus and the apostles. He emphasizes the church’s organic, relational essence and calls believers back to a Christ-centered way of life marked by discernment, unity, and resilience. With powerful examples — from Christians in Finland facing legal battles to the Chinese Communist Party’s attempts to rewrite Scripture — he paints a vivid picture of the global challenges confronting people of faith today.
With its blend of meticulous research, heartfelt conviction, and prophetic urgency, this book offers more than information — it stirs readers to action. MacDonald’s message points Christians toward hope, reminding them that they serve a God who has already overcome the world. His insights inspire a readiness grounded not in fear, but in the unchanging gospel of forgiveness, power, and eternal hope.
